Polypipe has seen its 1200mm Ridgistorm-XL large diameter pipe put to a unique use in helping the rehabilitation of rescue pets in an RSPCA sensory garden.

As seen recently on ITV’s Give a Pet a Home, the pipe donated by Polypipe has been used to create a tunnel as part of a sensory garden to assist with animal rehabilitation at RSPCA Newbrook Farm Animal Centre in Birmingham.

Designed to give dogs a better quality of life while they wait to be re-homed, the garden provides a haven for them to enjoy.

Elaine Buchan, Centre Manager at RSPCA Newbrook Farm Animal Centre in Birmingham, said: “Thanks to Polypipe our dogs now have an exciting new tunnel to run through and explore.

“We are grateful to Polypipe for the generous donation which will add a lot of value to our sensory garden project.”

Emma Nicholls, Marketing Manager at Polypipe, said: “We are delighted to have been able to help such a fantastic charity with a donation of our Ridgistorm-XL pipe.

“It is a unique opportunity for us to be able to support the work of the RSPCA at the animal centre in Birmingham, where rehabilitation facilities are essential to train the pets for their future homes.”

The RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre and Hospital resides in 72 acres of countryside and provides the best care for those animals that have been abused, rescued from harm and need specialist treatment.

They aim to find life-long new homes for animals and in 2014 they re-homed 216 dogs, 662 cats, 68 rabbits and 59 other animals.

Ridgistorm-XL large diameter piping system is more commonly known for its use across a wide variety of construction sectors for applications such as flood alleviation, waste water and sewerage, infrastructure, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy and air ventilation.
